Personal Note
So, you're probably wondering why I'd put a personal note on the signup page. And since I entirely meant to write this yesterday, I forgot exactly what I was going to write. So I'll just write what I think I meant to but I don't even know. This is probably subject to change if I remember what it is I was supposed to write.
The point here is to enjoy the music, produce good music, and help artists get their start. So if you've got friends that are producers and you want to work with them, bring them along! There are going to be lots of group projects, I'm fairly certain. I have so many ideas for things that rarely get done, or things that have never been done.
The thing that I want to separate this label from others is it's innovation, it's sense of naivety. I want it to do things that are so unrealistic money-wise, things that no other label would do simply because they just want to make more money.
Obviously the artists want to make money, so I'm giving them higher cuts than most labels would find worth it. I'm planning things that could be done to draw more attention to the music, that will cost me out of my pocket but probably pay nicely to the artists when it works out.
So all I'm really saying is, I'm not in this for the money and never plan to be. Hopefully it'll never come to the point where anyone's using me just for the money, but I'm sure it will. I'm sure the day will even come by when someone will try to sue me for something stupid and pointless, just to gain more money.
But that's unavoidable. This is the music business, people get pissy over tiny details. All I can say is that those pointless things aren't my purpose in this. Money's not even a thing, as long as I've got enough to take care of myself I don't care about the rest. So the second I'm confident that I've done well for myself, I'll be putting all I've got left over into getting new things done.
I won't be sharing most of these ideas until one of two scenarios gets fulfilled:
1) I think it's time to get the idea done and start on it
or
2) I don't think I'll ever get it done, but I want to see it happen so I just go ahead and see if someone else will try.
