What is the Momentum Fund?
This is something that I'm not sure if other labels use, but I doubt it. It's one of the many ideas I had for the label, and it goes something along the lines of this:
When you get paid, we do something different than usual.
Total royalties - release expenses = full profit.
Once this is figured out, 10% of the full profit is taken out completely and tossed into the momentum fund, leaving what remains to be split between the artist and the label at about a (Artist) 35 - 65 (Label) rate
So, what exactly does this fund do?
Well, first off, if large enough it covers the release expenses of the next album. Secondly, after that it puts all of the money in it towards advertising said album no matter what - So you're guaranteed to have at least a decent followup if your last album did well!
Who does this help? Everyone! It helps me because I have to take less risks releasing albums that I don't necessarily have a ton of faith in, and it helps the artists because if they're doing well they get paid a larger share than if I didn't have this fund.
