The Purpose of The Dubstep Hub
People often ask me exactly why I want to work with this, or what the label does, or things along this line. And I'll explain it.
I want to work with this simply because I enjoy it - Because I want to see Dubstep and electronic music in general grow as a genre and maybe even come up with some revolutionary ideas that could really influence it.
And yes, that's right. The record label that has Dubstep in it's name also is working with things like House and Drum & Bass where possible, as they're important sister genres to it.
So, what exactly is the purpose of the label? To change things. People say I'm naive, people say I'm an idiot, but I think that a group of dedicated, skilled artists working together could really change the face of electronic music.
Right now, my plan is to do three things:
1) Distribute the music online to websites like Beatport and iTunes, as well as several others, to help the artists get their name out there.
2) Help make things as simple as possible for the artists - If they need album covers, mastering, and things of the like, then I'll simply add it to the list of things taking off of the profit and I'll get it for them then and there. It shouldn't cost them much more - and hopefully even less - as if they bought them on their own.
3) Help the artists get production done - Artists often find it difficult to establish collabs with other artists and sell it, or they can't advertise. It's my goal to help artists get the word out there, to be able to produce great music, and more.
